Nightlife in Teton Valley Idaho

In spite of the local Mormon population's desires,

nightlife does exist in our little valley.

Victor

Where most of the valley nightlife happens

Grumpy's Goat Shack

Where Victor nightlife rocks! Great sandwiches and beers served by bartenders that know how to have fun! Grab a Chicago style hot dog or Sheboygan Brat Sandwich with a Pilsner Urquel maybe even some fine goat cheese with Roasted Garlic and a glass of Local Idaho wine

The Timberline Bar and Cafe-787-2639

This bar has live music most nights in the summer and long weekends in the winter. The music is mostly Country as the clientele tends more toward local rednecks and construction types. The food is mostly inexpensive bar finger foods and Burgers. Pool tables and a dance floor with plenty of space makes this the more desirable of the bars serving liquor. Smoky but they broke down and bought a smoke eater that helps a little.

The Knotty Pine-787-2866

This bar has live music sporadically and expensively and is geared toward younger gorpy ski-urchin types.(Ska-Reggae and alternative music rules here). The bathrooms are dirty and you can't get a drink due to overcrowding on concert nights. Cozy log cabin atmosphere when the rowdies aren't there, food tends toward basic steak and burgers with slow and inconsistent service. The only other bar in the valley with hard liquor. Be ready for clouds of cigarette smoke.

Pierre's Play House-787-2249

Caters heavily to Mormons and old people. Fried chicken served outdoors on picnic tables preceeds a corny but cute melodrama. Open Wed-Sat in the summer.

Driggs

Not exactly the nightlife central but there are some things to do.

The Spud Theatre-354-2727

The highlight of summer for many in the valley. A real old-fashioned Drive-in theatre where locals go for juicy Gladys burgers and malts. The kids like it for mateing, beer-drinking and to escape their parents. Just like Drive-ins have always been. They even have a website at http://www.spuddrivein.com/

The Royal Wolf-354-8365

A beer and wine bar (all that's available in Driggs at this time) that has an open bar area, a pool table and an outdoor patio. Some of the better food Driggs has to offer although still basically burgers and sandwiches. Service is hit or miss depending on whether the barmaids boyfriend is at the bar or not.

O'Rourke's-354-8115

The main Redneck Beer wine and Sport's bar in the valley. Always inhabited by cheap local rednecks whining about the price of the cheap beer and coffee and badgering the waitresses for freebies. TV's and idiots provide the entertainment. Most of the food served here could be prepared without the use of a knife. (Read Sysco frozen prepared items and pizza) The key words here are cheap and kids. Lots of out of control little rednecks-in-training to collide with.

Tetonia

Dave's Pub-456-2789

A pure Tetonia locals place. A drop when in the neighborhood place. Full Bar and a pool table.

Ask for robin she's the best!

Swan Valley

Saddlesore Saloon-483-2510

One of the best bars in the area. Our favorite. Great friendly people. Not much going on though. Swan Valley can be pretty quiet. Great for a cocktail or beer after fishing the South Fork of the Snake or returning from an Idaho Falls shopping trip. Good sandwiches, Prime Rib on Friday's Pool tables, pinball machines and cute and quiet rental cabins and rooms.
